Instructor Review and Desk Copies

Pineforge Press is happy to provide review copies of our textbooks and supplements for instructors who wish to consider them for classroom adoption. Pineforge now makes most of our textbooks and supplements available for inspection on a complimentary basis. In years past, a larger number of our titles were only available through a 60-day examination period; however, we've now relaxed our inspection copy policies significantly to make more SAGE titles available on a complimentary basis than ever before. A small percentage of our books must still remain in the 60-day inspection program in order to allow SAGE to continue profitably publishing in some more specialized markets overlooked by many of our competitors. If you have already decided to adopt a SAGE title for classroom use, and you need an additional desk copy, you can use our online request form to order these additional copies.

General Adoption Review Policies and Information

By completing and returning the adoption review request form, you indicate that you understand which titles are available on a complimentary basis and which titles are available on a 60-Day Exam basis, and that you have read and agreed to the adoption review policies. SAGE reserves the right to review and approve all requests.

Complimentary Review Copies
Should you adopt a SAGE /Pine Forge Press complimentary review title for your course, may we ask you to please call SAGE Customer Care at 1-800-818-7243? We will update your customer record to indicate that you have adopted the text and note that the book is a complimentary desk copy for you to keep and use in teaching your course.

A minimum annual course enrollment of 15 students is required to receive complimentary review copies.
Please limit your complimentary copy requests to two titles per course, and a maximum of 10 complimentary review copies per calendar year per faculty member, so that we can continue to publish high quality texts at affordable prices.

60-Day Examination Copies
Should you adopt a SAGE /Pine Forge Press title in our 60-day examination program for your course, please call SAGE Customer Care at 1-800-818-7243 (or email textbooks@sagepub.com) within 60 days and provide us with: the invoice number of your order, the name of the faculty member teaching the course, the name of the institution, course name, enrollment, and name of bookstore through which the adoption order is placed. After notification of adoption to SAGE, we will update your customer record to reflect that the 60-day examination title has been adopted; the text is then yours to keep and use in teaching your course as a complimentary desk copy. If for some reason you decide not to adopt the text, please choose one of the following options: return the book to SAGE in saleable condition (postage is the responsibility of the customer) along with a copy of your original order confirmation notice; or pay the amount indicated on the order confirmation notice that you received along with the book. If after the 60-day examination period you have not contacted SAGE and notified us of your adoption, or returned or paid for the book, SAGE will send you a reminder invoice statement that your account has an outstanding balance.

We are pleased to provide Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) college textbook information to assist faculty with course adoption consideration. This information may be found as a separate tab on the product page of each college textbook.
